We have just recieved a lovely parcel of memories from the family of Miss Dympna McEneaney who was matron at Aldwickbury during the 1960’s and 1970’s. She retired in 1978. It included this letter to parents detailing the arrangements for the day. Does anyone remember going to this?

Dympna McEneaney was matron at Aldwickbury during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Here she is at work. Just trying to work out where this is in the house and does anyone know who the rather healthy looking young man is?!

It's a sign of the times perhaps but we have had to install a new security gate at the entrance of the school this half term. This means that there will be no access to the school out of hours. We know that many Old Boys make a quick detour when passing to check the school is still standing and to see if any changes have been made. We are really so ...

Cricket has been played on the fields at Aldwickbury since the school started in 1948. Here is an extract from the first magazine published in 1949. It wouldn't be acceptable now to publish individual reviews of the 1st XI these days but it does make for interesting reading! Do let us know your memories of cricket at Aldwickbury.

It was around seventy years ago when the grand family mansion, Aldwickbury, came up for sale and was identified as being suitable as a school house.

Despite initial gloomy forecasts that Aldwickbury was too big for a school and would surely fail, now, 70 years on, the school is still around and is as successful as ever, confounding those e ...

It was a delight to welcome back Old Boys from 1948 – 1969 as well as three former pupils from Lea House School to our Prizegiving celebrations in July. This was part of the School’s 70th birthday celebrations.

“Thank you for the wonderful day you prepared for us 'old boys’ including the display of the school photographs in which I was able to rec ...

Michael was fondly remembered as a real gentleman by all who spoke of him and we heard of his considerable achievements in his working life. H ...
